Privacy Policy

Enesis is free, open-source software maintained by an individual developer, not a company. This policy explains what happens when you use the waitlist form on enesis.md.

Who is responsible for your data

Enesis has no company, no employees, and no legal entity behind it — it is maintained by one person as an open-source hobby project. For the purposes of data protection law, that person is the data controller for the waitlist.

You can reach the maintainer via Nostr at npub1k0y4eceal2zryes3azm6nsgt0r0jsa2v8zcsdf9uqxttn0jlfe9q04c9h8.

Because there is no corporate structure, there is no dedicated privacy/legal team behind this notice — treat it as a good-faith, plain-language commitment rather than a corporate policy.

What we collect

The only personal data collected through enesis.md is what you voluntarily submit through the waitlist form:

• An email address or a NIP-05 identifier (e.g. you@yourdomain.com), which you provide to be notified when pre-alpha access opens.

If you submit a NIP-05 identifier, the server makes a single outbound request to https://<your-domain>/.well-known/nostr.json to check whether it resolves to a Nostr public key (npub). This is a public, standard NIP-05 lookup — it does not send your identifier anywhere except the domain you typed.

We do not use cookies, analytics, trackers, or advertising pixels on this site. No behavioral profiling, no third-party marketing tools.

IP address (transient only)

Your IP address is read briefly by the server to apply basic rate-limiting. It is not stored alongside your submission and is not logged or retained by the application itself. Cloudflare, our hosting provider, may retain standard connection logs per its own policies.

Why we collect it

Solely to email you when Enesis pre-alpha access opens. We do not use your email or NIP-05 for anything else — no newsletters, no third-party sharing, no resale.

Legal basis (for GDPR purposes): consent — you actively submit the form to request access.

Where it is stored

Submissions are stored in Cloudflare KV, a key-value store tied to this site's Cloudflare account. Cloudflare acts as our infrastructure/hosting processor and may replicate data across its global edge network. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy for how they handle infrastructure-level data.

We do not use any other third-party service to store or process your submission.

How long we keep it

We keep waitlist entries until either:

• We have sent the access notification and the pre-alpha phase has closed,
• You ask us to delete it, or
• The maintainer manually clears the list — you are always welcome to ask.

There is no automated retention or deletion pipeline at this stage; deletion requests are handled manually.

Your rights

Regardless of your location, you can ask the maintainer at any time to:

• See what data we hold about you
• Correct it
• Delete it
• Withdraw consent

If you are in the EU or UK, these map to your GDPR rights (access, rectification, erasure, and withdrawal of consent). Given the size of this project, requests will be handled directly and promptly by the maintainer.

Children

Enesis is not directed at children, and the waitlist is not knowingly used to collect data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has submitted data, contact us and it will be removed.

Open source note

Enesis's code — including the code that handles this waitlist form — is public and open source at the repository. This privacy policy applies to submissions made through enesis.md specifically, not to forks or self-hosted deployments run by others.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date at the top will change too. Material changes affecting data already collected will be notified directly.
